“We have one body. The more we learn and understand how our bodies move, the better it will serve us in our journey. You can restore your body and mind through movement.”

Jeanne is a healthcare and wellness professional who has filled multiple roles in advocacy, public policy, and education. After graduating with a Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration and Health Communication, she worked for the pharmaceutical and medical communication industries to develop social, scientific, and education research programs to help patients, providers, and payers to understand the value of pharmaceuticals. During this process, she also  developed programs about proper medication and disease management.

In December 2020, despite the pandemic, she decided to open a Pilates studio with a mission and purpose. She traded the fear of uncertainty for the freedom to thrive within it. Using her retirement savings, in April 2021, Restore Pilates Chicago opened for people to learn about, move, and restore their bodies. After a significant health event, she restored her own body and mind with freestyle figure skating, Pilates, and yoga. She was reminded that proper movement is a lifestyle application and it can help to reduce pain, prevent injury, and heal trauma.

Jeanne believes that pharmaceuticals and surgical interventions will always have a role to treat disease, but it doesn't have to be the first step. How we move is a reflection of how we live. Pilates is a metaphor for life. We can all benefit from slow, steady, controlled movements, with a lot of breathing to get through the challenging times.
